Reba McEntireReba McEntire 's first CD release in 1989 was the album Reba Live. During those last 18 years, 77 albums of the artist were released. Hereunder are some of Reba McEntire's best successes. By the way, did you ever wonder how the artist succeded ? Birth Name: Reba Nell McEntire. Nickname: The Queen of Country Music, Big Red. The reigning queen of country music has pursued a musical career since the age of 5. In junior high, she performed with her siblings as the Singing McEntires. A fine athlete, McEntire followed in the footsteps of her rodeo champion father in competitive barrel racing. Her performance of the "Star Spangled Banner" at the 1974 National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City caught the attention of songwriter, Red Steagall who suggested she consider a career in country music. She has since earned 7 gold and 5 platinum albums and 2 Grammy Awards.
Reba McEntire never wanted to take four years between albums. But along the way she encountered a couple of diversions - including garnering commanding reviews for her starring role in the hit Broadway revival of Annie Get Your Gun and launching her successful new TV series, Reba. As much as she missed recording and singing, her absence allowed her a chance to recharge her musical batteries.

Now she's ready to return to her first love with a renewed perspective and a stronger-than-ever commitment. In doing so, she's turned Room To Breathe into a celebration of the sum of her strengths, creating a stunningly emotional, wide-ranging album that underscores why she's the most remarkable and accomplished female country singer of her generation. "I'm proud of all the music I've recorded and not to sound egotistical " Reba remarks, "but I think this is the best collection of songs that I've ever had on one album." While she worried about staying away so long - this is also the first time she's ever gone more than two years without staging a concert tour - she figures that the break allowed her a chance to re-evaluate what she loves about singing country music. Like the title song says, it gave her room to breathe. Now, having exhaled, she savored the chance to record again, and she did so with more vigor and resolve than ever. "There's something about having been away from the routine of the music business that ended up being refreshing to me," she says with her typical aplomb. "By getting away from it for a little while, it all feels fresh and new again. It's got a crisp feeling to it. It's just felt so wonderful to get back to music again." Meanwhile, Reba looks forward to taking her new music to the concert stage. "In 25 years, this is the longest break I've taken from live performing," she says. "I needed a break, to be honest. But now I'm ready. The fans always make it really special, and I miss it."  That word - heart - keeps coming up as Reba talks about her music these days. For someone who's accomplished so much, who's reached so far beyond her wildest dreams, everything still comes back to the same quality that initially drew her to music and to performance in the first place. Reba McEntire has succeeded so well because she knows what's important: sharing her heart, and touching other people's hearts.

Bruce Springsteen - Rock and Roll life

Bruce SpringsteenBorn in 1949 in Freeholden, New Jersey, Bruce Springsteen grew up among the working class heroes who would go on to populate many of his songs. He learned to play guitar in garage and blues outfits, taking his inspiration from Bob Dylan, The Byrds, and The Beatles. By the time of his 1973 debut, Greetings From Asbury Park, NJ, he'd already forged his own unique identity.
Though he spent time playing the New York City folk circuit in the early '70's, Springsteen's true home was the lonesome back streets and industrialized wasteland of New Jersey. Girding himself with some of his closest musical compatriots (dubbed the E Street Band after a location in Belmar, New Jersey), he caught the attention of Columbia Records and had his first deal by 1972. His first album immediately established him as a social commentator on the order of Bob Dylan.

Bruce Springsteen - Girls In Their Summer Clothes

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and rock legend Bruce Springsteen framed the working man's concerns with a combination of muscular, hard-driving rock and a poet's sensitive flair for phrasing. Time and Newsweek magazines ran simultaneous, competing cover stories on him in 1975, and like Elvis Presley before him in the 1950s, Springsteen transcended music to embody rock and roll in the American culture of the 1980s. His 1984 release, the multi-platinum Born in the U.S.A, was a rock landmark which featured on the cover the back of a man standing before a U.S. flag wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, with a red bandanna tucked into his back pocket. This Springsteen album cover was a cultural image as familiar to 1980s America as then-president Ronald Reagan. It was one of the biggest selling records in history, and launched seven top ten singles.

With The Wild, The Innocent, & The E Street Shuffle, also released in 1973, Springsteen began to incorporate a more upbeat sound into his introspective lyricism. Tracks like "The E Street Shuffle" and "Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)" allowed the band to stretch out and contribute to the feel of the songs. Line-up changes over the next year made the transformation complete. By 1975, original members Clarence Clemons (sax), Garry Tallent (bass) and Danny Federici (organ) had been augmented by guitarist Steve Van Zandt, keyboardist Roy Bittan, and drummer Max Weinberg.

Born To Run, released as America suffered through oil embargos, record unemployment, and involvement in Vietnam, struck a chord with audiences world-wide. Featuring the blistering title track, as well as forlorn post-teen anthems such as "Thunder Road" and "Backstreets," the album encapsulated not only a universal sense of entrapment, but offered a small grain of hope to a world weary of war, poverty, and social injustice. Arguably his career highlight, Born To Run also remains one of the best-selling rock albums of all time.

In 2001, Bruce released The Rising. After interviewing the survivors and family members of victims, he managed to create an album as socially relevant and universal as Nebraska, Born To Run, and Born In The USA. 2005 saw the release of Devils And Dust, another mostly-solo/acoustic album. He kicked off a world tour in Detroit in April, 2005. Though he's definitely a man caught between two worlds- the tortured singer/songwriter and the larger-than-life, rev' 'em up rock n' roll star- Bruce Springsteen continues to capture the imagination of both longtime fans and a curious younger generation.

Nyman's first major success came in 1982 with the score to the Greenaway film The Draughtsman's Contract; his subsequent collaborations with Greenaway on pictures including 1988's Drowning By Numbers, 1989's The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, and 1991's Prospero's Books remain among his most high-profile works, their notoriety coming at the risk of overshadowing his forays into opera, chamber music, vocal music, and dance scores. The signatures of Nyman's work include not only his use of propulsive repetition, but also a palette of idiosyncratic instrumental touches -- thumping keyboards, "rude" bass clarinets, and baritone saxophones, and extreme high and low octave doublings. Mozart was a central influence in much of his work, including 1976's In Re Don Giovanni and 1983's I'll Stake My Cremona to a Jew's Trump; Schumann, meanwhile, was the major inspiration behind the acclaimed 1986 chamber opera The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat, while Bartok shades 1988's String Quartet No. 2, commissioned for the Indian dancer and choreographer Shobana Jeyasingh.

Blake LewisBlake Lewis was born on July 21, 1981 at Redmond, Washington, USA, and he hails from Bothell, Washington, USA. Best known as the beatboxing contestant on season six of American Idol, Blake Lewis hails from Bothell, WA. Lewis comes from a musical family -- his mother used to be in a rock band and continues to sing and play guitar -- and began singing himself at age five. He impressed Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell, and Paula Abdul at the Seattle auditions with his beatboxing and performance of Seal's "Crazy," and further wowed them at Hollywood week, where he performed with fellow contestants Rudy Cardenas and Chris Sligh. Performances of songs like Keane's "Somewhere Only We Know" and Jamiroquai's "Virtual Insanity" reflected his hip musical tastes; some of Lewis' other favorite artists include Imogen Heap, 311, and Gnarls Barkley. A spectacular hodgepodge of styles as varied as synth-pop, alterna-funk and old school hip-hop, Audio Day Dream could only be the brainchild of a true visionary ... or at least a funk soul brotha with a studio addiction. His distinctive style won him early fan support, including a voting bloc calling themselves "the Blaker Girls," and Lewis ultimately emerged as the season's runner-up. While completing the subsequent American Idol tour that summer, he spent most of his evenings focusing on his full-length studio debut, co-writing 12 of the album's 13 tracks and collaborating with such producers as OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder. Audio Day Dream dropped in December 2007, buoyed by the leadoff single "Break Anotha". He auditioned for "American Idol" at Seattle, Washington. During his audition, he sang to the beat of Seal's "Crazy." All the judges said yes, but Simon reminded him not to be too cocky. On March 8, 2007, Blake Lewis made the Top 12 on "American Idol." He was eliminated from the competition on May 23, 2007. He garnered 2nd place or runner-up, losing only to winner, Jordin Sparks.

Justin TimberlakeJustin Randall Timberlake was born to Lynn Harless and Randy Timberlake on January 31, 1981, in Memphis, Tennessee. At the age of 11, he appeared on the show "Star Search" (1983), and even though he didn't win, it didn't dampen his ambitions. He also appeared on "MMC" (1989), where his costars included Britney Spears, Ryan Gosling, Keri Russell, Christina Aguilera and future band-mate J.C. Chasez. At age 14, Justin became a member of the boy band *NSYNC. *NSYNC got started in Orlando, FL, in 1996, when Timberlake and Chasez teamed up with Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Joey Fatone. Managed by former New Kids on the Block manager Johnny Wright, *NSYNC were eventually formed in 1995. Enlisting hit pop producers Kristian Lundin (Backstreet Boys), and Denniz Pop and Max Martin (Robyn, Ace Of Base ), the team recorded a collection of teen-oriented pop/dance tracks. The band found success in Europe first on the strength of their singles, I Want You Back and Tearin' Up My Heart. A tour of American roller rinks introduced them to the US audience, as a result of which I Want You Back became a US No.13 hit in May 1998. Their self titled debut album was released in 1998 selling millions of copies in Europe and the US. They became a big hit with fans and made a place for themselves in the music world with a succession of big-selling albums. In the beginning of 2002, Justin spent time working on and writing songs for his debut solo album. During this time, he broke up with his longtime girlfriend, Britney Spears. The release of the solo album, titled "Justified", came in November of 2002. Songs from his solo album include: "Like I Love You", "Cry Me A River" and "Rock Your Body". Timberlake returned to the music world in 2006 with his Prince-inspired FutureSex/LoveSounds, which featured production work from Timbaland and Rick Rubin, and was followed by a brief club tour.

Led Zeppelin - get a drive!

Led ZeppelinLed Zeppelin is a popular British band best known for their hit 'Stairway to Heaven' as well as for co-creating the music genre of heavy metal. Led Zeppelin was rock's first real Heavy Metal band. Yet many of their fans were not even fans of metal music. They came about after guitarist Jimmy Page, (who was rock's most sort after session man in the early and mid sixties) was left with what was the remains of theYardbirds. He had join the Yardbirds to record with them on what would be their final album, Little Games in 1967. In the spring of 1968, Page played lead guitar on Donovan's song "Hurdy Gurdy Man" which also featured bassist John Paul Jones. Jones had heard rumors that the Yardbirds might break up and told Page he would like to be part of any new band he might put together. By the summer of '68 the Yardbirds' frontman Keith Relf, along with James McCarty left the band leaving behind Page and bassist Chris Dreja with the rights to the name and obligation of fulfilling an upcoming fall tour. Page wanted to hire vocalist Terry Reid as Relf's replacement, but Reid was still with Procol Harum and suggested Page check out his friend, Robert Plant, who was singing for a band called Hobbstweedle. Since their nine albums were recorded between 1968 and 1979, Led Zeppelin remains one of the most popular bands of all time, having sold more than 300 million records and millions of concert tickets worldwide.

The quartet was conceived at the end of the Hippie love era, in a group marriage of blues, rock and roll, soul, rockabilly, folk ballad, jazz, classical and Oriental music, and something else scattered over some woozy sounds of their songs. It was their mutual artistic stimulation, their group interplay and imagination that incorporated mythology and mysticism and concocted their inimitable style, and established the concept of album-oriented rock career.

Led Zep kept touring through 1970. They found the time to record their third LP and Led Zeppelin III was released that October. Although it still had some heavy numbers like "Immigrant Song", the album was a little more mellow than the first two albums. That December they started to record their fourth album and sessions lasted till the next summer, several things held up the new album and the LP would not be released till the end of 1971. The band not only wanted the album to be untitled, but wanted nothing written on it; no credits or any text anywhere on the album, on its inside or outside sleeves. They wanted the music to do the talking. They were eventually talked out of it by Atlantic Records and there were credits added to the inside paper sleeve, but still, nothing was written on the front cover to identify the album or who put it out, and the album was left untitled by the band. It did get to be know unofficially as Led Zeppelin IV. The songs on the album were indeed powerful and the album reach number two on the charts. One of the songs was "Stairway to Heaven", which would not only go down as Led Zep's best song ever, but rock's best ever song too, as far as most rock fans feel. In 1972 the band did less touring and worked on their fifth album. It would be released in the spring of '73 and titled Houses Of The Holy. Once again the album was filled with a little bit of everything and was another top seller, reaching number one, despite bad press reviews about it. The tour that supported the album broke just about all of the then records for attendance, as did the nightly gate cash receipts. Near the end of the tour while in New York City, someone broke into their hotel's safety deposit box and got off with the first nights gross from the NYC gig, $205,000.00 in cash. It was the single highest theft from a deposit box in Manhattan's history. Yet the band's members didn't seem to be fazed one bit by it.
Jimmy Page was an experienced lead guitarist who worked with multi-instrumentalist John Paul Jones in 1967, and they agreed to work on the next project. In August 1968 Page invited Robert Plant and John Bonham to join his band, the New Yardbirds, for a September tour in Scandinavia. In October they took the name Led Zeppelin, which stemmed from a humorous conversation among several musicians about their chances of going down like a lead balloon. However, British bands were highly anticipated in the USA, and the Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun signed the new band without even seeing them.

Their debut album, 'Led Zeppelin', recorded and mixed in just about 36 hours in October 1968 at Olympic Studios in London, kicked open the door for all extremes and experiments. The phallic image of the blown up Hindenburg airship on the cover, designed by George Hardie, announced the hardening of rock and coming of the new super-group. While ascending to musical success as a powerhouse band, Led Zeppelin explored a variety of styles, from English folk ballads to blues and rock, and created their own inimitable style.

Prior to the release of their first album, Led Zeppelin made live appearances at the University of Surrey and in London in October 1968, then went on their first American tour in December 1968. In their first year, Led Zeppelin made four concert tours in the USA, and another four tours in the UK. Their second album was recorded entirely on the road at several American recording studios, and was an even greater success than the first one. 'Whole Lotta Love', 'Heartbraker', 'Living, Loving Maid', and 'Ramble On' became big international hits.

Each member of the quartet contributed to their compositions, thus setting a fine example of group creativity. Their songs and albums rambled on with the highly versatile voice-guitar interplay. Plant's incredible vocal range and Page's enchanting guitar solos were as responsible for the band's singularity as its musical wanderlust. Plant's and Page's musicianship was supported by the tight work of John Paul Jones on bass, and John Bonham on drums. The intense interaction of all four players on stage gave their live performances a visual counterpoint to well intertwined harmonic and rhythmic structures of their compositions.

Their third album, Led Zeppelin III, influenced by folk and Celtic music, offered more inventiveness with acoustic/electric sound-work, and revealed more of the band's versatility with such compositions as the 'Immigrant Song' and 'Since I've Been Loving You'. With the release of their 4th, and most popular album, Led Zeppelin achieved a reputation of the biggest band in the world. 'Stairway to Heaven' became the most played radio hit, several other songs became rock classics, and nobody knows how many more times their lines would help other musicians (like the opening riff from 'How Many More Times' was later used by Pink Floyd in their hit 'Money').

Capitalizing on the success of their first four albums, the band toured extensively in the 1970s. At that time they chartered a private jet, nicknamed The Starship, that carried the band's name and later added the famous 'Swan Song' winged Apollo image on the tail. Going to California turned into a ritual of wildness and excess, most notably at the Hyatt House hotel on the Sunset strip in Los Angeles, known colloquially as the "Riot House" for a series of some most exciting off-stage events, such as riding a motorcycle inside the hotel and throwing TV set out of the window. Another scandal known as the 'shark episode', down by the seaside, in a Seattle hotel, had contributed to their enormous popularity. One of their concerts under a heavy thunderstorm in Florida ended with police using tear gas, and led to a temporary pause in their concert tours.

During the 70s their career was interrupted several times by accidents, deaths and other unfortunate events. In 1980 John Bonham was getting sick again and again, until he shook many by his death, leaving others dazed and confused. It was nobody's fault but his. In December 1980, Led Zeppelin disbanded, albeit the public could feel their presence. In 1982, a collection of out-takes from various sessions from the 1970s was released as their last album, Coda. During the 1980s the remaining three members experienced a serious communication breakdown, until they briefly united for a short set in 1985, and once again, in 1988, to play with Bonham's son, Jason, for the Atlantic Records 40th Anniversary show.

In 1994 Page and Plant showed their softer side when they performed live together on 'MTV Unplugged', which was released the same year as album titled 'No quarter'. Then they made an international tour with an orchestra. In 1995 Page and Plant were joined by Jones when the band was indicted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, albeit the three former band-mates did not perform together. By that time Jimmy Page as well as Robert Plant had pursued individual careers touring and recording with their own bands.

Another ten years gone. Page's and Plant's call-and-response interplay took them through good times and bad times. Their sonic originality had sparked imagination and creativity in millions of open minds. Singers, songwriters, armies of music fans and a rainbow of dedicated 'led heads', as well as guitarists and guitar collectors worldwide remained united through the acquired experience and conditioning to the Led Zep sounds.

Hats off to Led Zeppelin, who opened the new extremes of musical expression, and are now back in the light confirming their presence. Their long anticipated reunion in December 2007 was a true celebration day. Their live performance was as tight as a rock band can be, and their living, loving song remains the same since we've been loving them, that's the way!

Julio Iglesias has sold 250 million records and released nearly 80 records. He has performed approximately 5,000 concerts during his career. Julio Iglesias was the most popular Latin singer of the '70s and '80s, selling over 100 million albums around the world. Iglesias was a smooth, romantic crooner and his appeal translated to many different countries in many different languages.Initially, Iglesias planned to be a lawyer. As he studied, he was a goalkeeper for the Real Madrid football team. His career as an athlete was ended after an automobile accident in the mid-'60s.While he was recovering, Iglesias started playing guitar and writing songs. Before he began a musical career, he finished his law studies at Cambridge University.  During the '70s, he toured Europe and Latin America, gaining a large fan base with hits like 1975's  Manuela. By the end of the decade, he was extremely popular -- so popular, CBS International sought out a contract with him. He signed with the label in 1978. Iglesias began to record not only in Spanish, but in Italian and French as well. At the turn of the decade, Julio Iglesias began to pursue the American and British markets by concentrating on his English recordings. His efforts began to pay off in 1981, when his cover of "Begin the Beguine" became a number one hit. It was quickly followed by the compilation record Julio, which became a big success in England and America. However, his major crossover success was 1984's 1100 Bel Air Place, a collection of duets. Featuring the Top Ten hit duet with Willie Nelson "To All the Girls I've Loved Before," the album sold over three million copies in America and peaked at number five on the pop charts; it also spawned "All of You," a hit duet with Diana Ross. Iglesias' popularity continued to grow throughout the '80s, although he only had one more pop crossover hit, 1988's "My Love," a duet with Stevie Wonder. By the 1990s, he had stopped courting the English pop market and concentrated on recording mainly in Spanish, as well as a handful of other languages. His popularity did not diminish at all in his third decade of recordings -- he was still capable of selling millions of records and selling out concerts around the world.

Urban was born in New Zealand and grew up in Australia; determined to be an entertainer, he quit school as a teenager and began singing and playing guitar professionally. A 1990 record deal with EMI produced his first album, Keith Urban. The album spawned several hit singles in Australia and prompted Urban's 1992 move to Nashville, Tennessee, the hub of the country music industry. He found work as a session guitarist and had modest success with the band The Ranch, then went solo. His 1999 American debut album (also titled Keith Urban) yielded three top hits and won him the Academy of Country Music Award as Top New Male Vocalist. His 2002 release, Golden Road, was another hit and featured the single "Somebody Like You." His 2004 album, Be Here, earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album. His album Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing was released in 2006. Keith Urban's Musical Influences: Glen Campbell, Jimmy Webb, Don Williams, Mark Knopfler, Freddie Mercury, Fleetwood Mac, Jackson Browne, Don Henley, Ronnie Milsap and Dolly Parton. Keith Urban's Awards: 2001 ACM New Male Vocalist, 2001 CMA Horizon Award, 2004 CMA Male Vocalist, 2005 ACM Male Vocalist, 2005 ACM Album of the Year - Be Here, 2006 ACM Male Vocalist, 2006 CMA Male Vocalist.
